Already beaten in the League Cup during the week, Arsenal lost the clash against Newcastle (1-0) on Saturday at St James’ Park. The Gunners fail to catch up with Man City at the top of the Premier League.

Arsenal are having a bad time. Defeated in the Champions League by RC Lens (2-1), a month ago, and slapped by West Ham in the EFL Cup (3-0), Wednesday evening, the Gunners lost the beautiful poster of the 11th day of Premier League between Newcastle (1-0), Saturday afternoon.

A controversial goal from Anthony Gordon on the hour mark was enough for the Magpies (64th), the VAR having needed several minutes to validate this achievement due to a possible foul on the action. Deprived of Martin Odegaard, unavailable at the last minute, the Londoners struggled to be dangerous despite their superior ball possession. Bukayo Saka was messy, Eddie Nketiah had nothing to chew on.

Arsenal are third in the table with three points less than Manchester City (with Tottenham who can regain the lead in the event of victory over Chelsea on Monday evening). Newcastle moved up to 6th position, with four units less than the Gunners.
