A host of football legends, including Ronaldo Nazario and Zinedine Zidane, have voted for Jude Bellingham to win the 2023 Kopa Trophy.
The English midfielder joined Real Madrid for a staggering €131 million, including add-ons, after a successful season with Borussia Dortmund, in which he scored 14 goals in 42 matches. Additionally, he was an integral part of Gareth Southgate’s Qatar 2022 squad, helping the England national team reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
His incredible performances have not gone unnoticed and he was recognized as the best U21 player of the 2022-23 campaign at the Ballon d’Or ceremony. He has established himself as the first choice of several former Ballon d’Or winners, including legends like Ronaldo, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Luka Modric, Luis Figo and others.
Jamal Musiala didn’t go far as the teenager was in incredible form with Bayern Munich. He won the Bundesliga and the DFL Supercup with the Bavarians, scoring 16 goals and providing as many assists in 47 matches.
Lionel Messi, the record winner of the Ballons d’Or with eight wins, voted in his favour, as did other legends such as Franz Beckenbauer, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Jean-Pierre Papin and Gianni Rivera.
