Kylian Mbappé has reportedly sacrificed the bonuses owed to him by Paris Saint-Germain in order to force his transfer to Real Madrid next summer.

Mbappé will be free to leave Paris Saint-Germain for no financial compensation when his contract expires at the end of the season. The club was ready to do anything to prevent this from happening, but the Spanish media A.S. notes that his position would have softened after the attacker agreed to waive around 100 million euros in loyalty bonuses that would have been due to him.

The Bondy star looked set to join Real Madrid in 2022, but he changed his mind and signed a new lease with PSG. However, over the summer it emerged that the final year of his new contract is optional, meaning he can leave in 2024.

PSG was determined not to let their jewel leave without receiving transfer compensation. Now that he will get some money back thanks to the Frenchman’s decision to forgo his loyalty bonuses, a move to the Bernabeu appears to be a formality.
