Paul Pogba has been in a real free fall for several months. In Italy, we believe we know the reason for this shipwreck and it is linked to Mino Raiola.
Nicolo Schira, Italian transfer specialist, believes that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has lost his compass, embodied by his former agent Mino Raiola.
“Pogba has lost his father figure”
Since Raiola’s death last year, Pogba has been the subject of alleged blackmail and now faces a lengthy suspension over doping. Schira told Radio Bianconera: “Raiola? He was very tough, but he did what was good for his players. He was very attentive. In my opinion, with Pogba, there were management errors and carelessness.”
Schira went on to indicate that the very first error of judgment the French international made was not having surgery when he was injured. “As far as the operation is concerned, it’s the player who has to say ‘I’m having surgery or I’m not having surgery’. From there, many errors cascaded. If he had had surgery, with the long break from the World Cup, he would have come back.”
“Instead, the problems dragged on and he was operated on in the same way. The season was compromised and his management off the field was also affected. He is missing an important figure who knows how to manage him and it is no coincidence that Pogba has struggled over the last two years. And they coincide with the death of Mino Raiola”, concluded the Italian journalist.
