Bayern was knocked out by a German D3, FC Saarbrücken, on Wednesday evening, in the round of 16 of the Pokal.

Second in the Bundesliga behind Leverkusen with no defeats, Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern was eliminated from the German Cup on Wednesday evening at the 15th place in Bundesliga 3, FC Saarbrücken (2-1). The fussball juggernaut will not win the Pokal, like last year…

Thomas Müller opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour of play, with a long shot (16th), but Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting or Bleuet Mathys Tel were unable to score the break goal, before the equalizer opponent before half-time, by Patrick Sontheimer (45th + 1). Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman came on at the hour mark. In vain.

The Saarbrücken club (border town with France, near Forbach) created a sensation, with a qualifying goal scored at the end of added time, in the 96th minute. Marcel Gaus capsized the 16,000 spectators at the small Ludwigsparkstadion.
