Opponent of RC Lens in the Champions League, Arsenal sank against West Ham in the round of 16 of the League (3-1) on Wednesday evening.

Mikel Arteta had certainly blown half of his starters (David Raya was not in the squad, William Saliba remained on the bench, Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Sako came on), but Arsenal are came out of the ELF Cup (the English League Cup) with their heads down, losing 3-1 in a London derby against West Ham on Wednesday evening.

Ben White weighed down the Gunners from the start, with a nice header at the near post in his own goal (16th), then the twirling Mohammed Kudus (50th) and Jarrod Bowen (60th) put the Hammers into orbit at the start of the second period. Arsenal avoided the bubble in front of the noisy crowd at the London Stadium thanks to a goal on the last action of the match scored by Odegaard (96th).

Arsenal recorded their second defeat of the season after that at Lens (2-1) in the Champions League, Sang et Or, which the Guners will face on November 29. During their good last season, with a second place in the Premier League behind Manchester City, the north London club lost in the round of 16 of the League Cup then the FA Cup and in the round of 16 of the Europa League.
