Ballon d’Or: Messi, the big lie denounced

On the sidelines of the Ballon d’Or ceremony, a Spanish journalist announced a meeting between Lionel Messi and Joan Laporta. But it’s wrong.

This was one of the additional information concerning Lionel Messi and the presentation of the Ballon d’Or. According to Gerard Romero, a famous Spanish journalist, the Argentinian would have taken advantage of his visit to Paris to meet Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona. The latter would have thanked the former number 10 of the Blaugranas for the tribute paid to his training club during his speech, and the two men would have discussed the tribute that Barça intends to pay to the greatest player in its history.

Very good, but all this is obviously false. Messi did not meet Laporta this week in Paris. And it was the Argentinian himself who denounced the deception. “You’re lying…again”wrote the Inter Miami player while relaying these articles from Jijantes.

We could have left it there but, quite rarely, the Spanish journalist immediately made a total mea culpa. “A THOUSAND APOLOGIES to everyone, and YET A THOUSAND MORE. I was tricked again with something LEO related. I don’t learn. Sorry, wrote Gerard Romero. I accept everything you tell me today and I promise we will work to ensure this never happens again. »
