Having passed through Paris Saint-Germain, of which he was captain, Thiago Silva continues to play at 39 years old. But the Brazilian knows that each day that passes brings him a little closer to retirement. Asked by Sky Italiathe central defender, whose contract ends this summer at Chelsea, spoke frankly about his future.
“The end of my career is approaching and it’s not a simple thing. I have to think about whether I stop or continue and, if I continue, where I am going. There is family to take into account. I have two sons who play at Chelsea. For the moment, I’m taking the opportunity to play and make the most of this last year of my contract at Chelsea. But I am very happy and proud of the journey I have taken, of what I am doing today at 39 years old. I have been preparing my whole life to get the most out of my work. Football is my passion. After my retirement, I will surely continue in this world, I don’t know how yet.” Thiago Silva still has time to think about it.
