Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni has come to the defense of FC Barcelona player Gavi after a source claimed the Spaniard injured him.

The video shows a Gavi charge on the French midfielder, who was sidelined for two months after suffering a stress fracture to the second metatarsal of his left foot.

The foul occurred during an action in the second half where Tchouameni blocked the young Barça player. Tchouameni has now refuted these claims and revealed that his injury happened in the first half and the fracture was not caused by Gavi.

Tchouameni will now miss two months of competition and will probably only return during the end-of-year holidays in December. Until then, Carlo Ancelotti only has one defensive midfielder in the person of Eduardo Camavinga.

The Madrilenians will face Rayo Vallecano on Sunday November 5.
