This Monday the Ballon d’Or award ceremony will take place. We tell you everything about this ceremony.

The 2023 Ballon d’Or will take place on the evening of Monday October 30, 2023 at the Théâtre du Châtelet, on the banks of the Seine in the French capital. The theater, inaugurated in 1862, hosted the 2019 ceremony and was renovated a few years ago.

In addition to the men’s Ballon d’Or, other awards will be presented in Paris on Monday evening, including the women’s Ballon d’Or, the Kopa Trophy and the recently created Yashin Trophy, named in honor of the great Lev Yashin, only goalkeeper to win the standard Ballon d’Or.

Who are the nominees for the men’s Ballon d’Or?

There are 30 nominees for the title this year. You can find the complete list here.

Who are the favorites for the Ballon d’Or?

Two favorites seem to emerge for the succession of Karim Benzema, in this case Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. It would be surprising to see the prize escape one of its two stars.

According to certain indiscretions, Messi’s triumph is even already acquired. The Argentine genius would thus lift his eighth Ballon d’Or this Monday. A record.

On which channel to watch the Ballon d’Or ceremony?
