OM’s French international, Jordan Veretout, looked at the progress made by the arrival of the new Marseille coach, Gennaro Gattuso.
The victory against AEK Athens (3-1) brought new spirits to the hearts of the Phocaeans. Starting with Olympique de Marseille midfielder Jordan Veretout. Present at a press conference before the reception of Olympique Lyonnais this Sunday at the Vélodrome, the former Nantais player gave a positive assessment of the progress of his team since the arrival of Gennaro Gattuso at the head of the Marseille locker room.
“Lately, we are showing another face of OM. We’re not at the top yet, but we’re gaining momentum and it’s felt in people. Everyone has been happier lately. (…) We make small mistakes that cost us points. We watch a lot of videos to correct them and in the last few matches we have already corrected quite a few. We must be picky about each action,” thus judged the Ancenien, on the eve of the Olympico.
The 2022 world vice-champion has also noticed a clear improvement on the physical level. “On the pitch today, we lasted 90 minutes and we felt better. We worked a lot during the break to correct this and now we feel less tired”added Veretout.
