The return to competition of Christopher Nkunku, injured since the start of the season, is eagerly awaited by Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Transferred to Chelsea this summer from RB Leipzig for an amount estimated at 60 million euros, Christopher Nkunku has still not played a single minute in an official match with the Blues. The fault was a nasty knee injury during summer preparation. His coach Mauricio Pochettino, for his part, maintains the hope of a return of the French striker after the international break in November, which should allow the London team, 10th in the Premier League, to redress the situation.

“He is progressing very well, he is working really hard, he said. I think he’s very close to a comeback. As soon as possible we can use it. It is very important to us. When you see the goals he scored last season, he is a player who can bring us goals and I think we are lacking. (…) We can’t wait to get him back and see if the team can score more to be in a different position in the standings. »

Positioned in the soft underbelly of the ranking, with three wins, three draws, three defeats and 12 points on the clock, the residents of Stamford Bridge host Brentford this Saturday, as part of the 10th day of the championship.
