Former Real Madrid striker Pedja Mijatovic thinks Jude Bellingham is not an English footballer.
Former Real Madrid striker and sporting director Pedja Mijatovic has praised Jude Bellingham.
“Bellingham is a leader and he shows it”
Mijatovic admits he is a long-time fan of the England midfielder. “I’ve known Bellingham for years and him leaving England at such a young age for the Bundesliga imbued him with the German mentality of never giving up, being consistent, pushing yourself. And that’s what we see in Madrid,” did he declare.
The hero of the 1997/1998 Champions League final then insisted that Bellingham learned a lot from his time in Germany and that explains his success. “His footballing personality is more German than English, which, with his quality, makes him a player whose ceiling we cannot see at the moment. Madrid reacted very well by recruiting him, because all the big European clubs wanted him. “It says a lot about how he accepted Madrid’s offer, because he knows what it can bring him on an individual and collective level, rejecting offers that would surely have been more profitable for him.”
Finally, the Serbian also praised the leadership qualities of the English genius: “ Its impact is extraordinary. It was certainly not planned in his script for him to start so well. He’s a leader and he shows it.”
