Lens still shows heart!

Trailing again, RC Lens won a draw against PSV Eindhoven (1-1) which leaves the Sang et Or in a good position before the return phase of the Champions League.

It’s definitely a reaction team, this RC Lens. For the third time in three days of the Champions League, the Sang et Or conceded the opener, but they still did not lose! After bringing home a point from Sevilla (1-1) then bringing down Arsenal (1-2), Franck Haise’s men this time won a draw against PSV Eindhoven (1-1).

The Lensois did not show the same madness as against Arsenal three weeks ago. Even if Machado had the first opportunity (8th), it was PSV, dashing leader of the Dutch championship, which took control of operations. And after a post found by Lozano (27th), a strike from Belgian Johan Bakayoko surprised a Brice Samba for once not imperial (0-1, 55th).

It would be better not to lose in Eindhoven

The Lensois therefore had the merit of reacting, and the coaching of Franck Haise paid off. The Artesian coach launched three offensive players (Thomasson, Costa and Saïd in the 63rd), but he left Elye Wahi on the field. And the former Montpellier, already decisive against Arsenal, equalized by magnificently taking a cross from Frankowski (1-1, 65th).

After a short moment of euphoria, Lens had a small match point on a strike from Medina (81st), but it was again PSV who had the best opportunities at the end of the match, through Veerman (79th) and Ramalho (89th). On arrival, Lens lost its first place to Arsenal but remained well placed in the race for qualification with three points ahead of PSV and Sevilla after the first leg. But it would be better not to lose in two weeks in Eindhoven, otherwise you would immediately find yourself in an unfavorable draw…
