PSG: Real Madrid chose a nice plan B in the event of failure for Kylian Mbappé

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Little by little, the fateful deadline of January 2024 is approaching. Once the new calendar year starts, Kylian Mbappé will finally be able, officially at least, to start negotiating with other clubs without PSG being able to have a say. Everything indicates that the Bondynois will not extend the lease which binds him to the capital club and Real Madrid is the favorite to offer his services. The Madrid team has been chasing him for many years now, and Florentino Pérez should finally be able to welcome the French international to the Santiago Bernabéu next summer.

At least that’s what Madrid’s leaders and a vast majority of fans hope for. But at the same time, the Madrid media have explained several times in recent weeks that Real Madrid still remains suspicious. The staff of the most successful club in the Champions League will not declare victory before having signed a pre-contract with the principal concerned, since in recent years, on several occasions, the Madrilenians thought they had done the hardest part before that the player does not change his mind.

A player already followed in the past

The Merengues thus believe that the Frenchman’s word is not completely reliable, and the twists and turns that we have witnessed during the last episodes of this endless soap opera are proof of this. It is therefore no surprise if Real Madrid is working, in parallel, on other avenues. As indicated Defensa Central, the Madrilenians’ plan B is none other than Lautaro Martinez, the Argentinian striker from Inter who is making a more than convincing start to the season. Already on the club’s shelves in the past, he would be the chosen one in the event that Mbappé ultimately decides to stay in Paris or join another club.

He is particularly appreciated by Juni Calafat, the club’s nugget scout who has continued to follow him since his explosion at Racing de Avellaneda. It must be said that this season, the Argentinian international has posted incredible statistics, with 11 goals scored in 9 Italian championship matches. And even if Inter will logically not let him go easily, the still somewhat tense financial situation of the Lombards could work in favor of Real Madrid. To be continued…
