Former Olympique Lyonnais player, Maxime Gonalons did not hide his sadness at the decline of his former club.
Born in VĂ©nissieux and trained at Olympique Lyonnais, Maxime Gonalons had contrasting feelings after Clermont’s victory on the pitch at Groupama Stadium. If he was obviously delighted with the success achieved by his team, the Auvergne midfielder was sad for OL, dead last in Ligue 1 and still looking for a first victory.
The former Lyonnais was even worried about a possible descent at the end of the season. “It’s a very complicated situation, and one that was not possible until recently. I wouldn’t have believed for a single second that the club could get to this point today, explained the former Lyonnais on Prime Video. It’s football, they need to realize that it’s going to be difficult. We, at Clermont, expect to maintain our position at the start of the season.
