Under contract with FC Barcelona until 2026, Samuel Umtiti is coming out of a great season in Lecce, but his loan is now over with the Italian club. Barça could accept an offer from Olympique Lyonnais.
Lecce leaders were unable to make a proposal to their Barca counterparts to turn Samuel Umtiti’s loan into a permanent transfer. But it was with a heavy heart that they saw the French defender leave, who brought a lot to the maintenance operation won by the Puglia club. Now back in Catalonia, the 2018 world champion is however placed on the list of transferable players, Xavi not counting on him for next season. At 29, Samuel Umtiti could therefore change dressing rooms during this next transfer window. Seven years after leaving OL to sign for FC Barcelona for 25 million euros, Umtiti could do the opposite.
