The goal of the year during Monaco-Metz!

Young FC Metz midfielder Lamine Camara scored an incredible goal against AS Monaco on Sunday with a shot from his own camp!

Lamine Camara, young Senegalese midfielder from FC Metz, made a name for himself this Sunday afternoon. The 19-year-old scored a phenomenal goal for his own side, during the Grenats match on the AS Monaco pitch, on behalf of the 9th day of Ligue 1.

In the 4th minute of the match played at the Stade Louis-II, Camara countered Youssouf Fofana and, from the central circle and more precisely from 58 meters, he struck hard to find the back of the net of Philipp Köhn, the German-Swiss goalkeeper of the ASM. His first goal with Messins since his arrival in February 2023 from Génération Foot, the Senegalese training center from which Sadio Mané came.

This phenomenal lob will undoubtedly be nominated for the best goal of the French championship season during the UNFP Trophies next May. Camara does not do better, however, than Whabi Khazri, who scored from 68 meters (even before the central circle) with AS Saint-Etienne against… FC Metz, October 30, 2021.
