Thanks to their unstoppable Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland, Manchester City won against Brighton (2-1) on Saturday. The Norwegian cyborg has never remained silent in three consecutive Premier League matches.
Arriving at Manchester City a year and a few months ago, Erling Haaland has never gone three matches without scoring in the Premier League. It’s pretty crazy! The 23-year-old Norwegian star had remained silent during the last two PL matches before the international window (this happened to him twice during his first season), and he put an end to this “starvation” by scoring in the clash against in Brighton, won 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at home.
Pep Guardiola’s team dominated the start of the match and Jérémy Doku, hitting the left wing, overtook and served Julian Alvarez for the opener (7th). Ten minutes later, on a recovery in the camp of Roberto De Zerbi’s team, Haaland struck hard from 20 meters to double the lead (19th).

The reigning champions were unable to take cover afterwards, and Ansu Fati even reduced the gap after a Seagulls counter-attack in the second half (73rd). City still won, the exclusion of Manuel Akanji in the 95th minute being anecdotal.
Man City regains the lead in the standings from Liverpool (who won against Everton earlier), while Brighton is 7th with this 3rd defeat in 9 days.
