As December looms on the horizon, we are fast approaching the anniversary of the first time Carlo Ancelotti was associated with the role of Brazil manager.
After Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup and Tite’s resignation, Ancelotti was one of the first names mentioned along with José Mourinho and Pep Guardiola.
The Italian became the favored choice in the spring of last year, and in June, CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues publicly declared that he would take over in June 2024. Fernando Diniz was named interim coach.
Once again, Ancelotti was careful not to say too much during his press conference on Friday, but the Madrid media, including Marcahave made it clear that the Italian has not committed to anything for the moment.
For their part, Real Madrid are happy with Ancelotti, even if they have not yet decided on his future for next season. The Madrid daily says that Brazil would like to obtain confirmation as soon as possible, but that it hopes to have a response before the end of 2023.
It appears that Rodrigues is committed to bringing Ancelotti in one way or another, by publicly backing him. The Italian seems keen to keep his options open, while Real Madrid do the same
