But the Catalan club finally withdrew from this file. And according to the sporting director of the Deco club, only one person would have wanted this return: President Joan Laporta.

“ We had conversations with Neymar’s agent, but it was mainly President Laporta, explained the former Portuguese midfielder to the press this Thursday. He’s a fantastic player and would have been an addition, but there were never any real options to sign him. He really wanted to come, but we had to stay within the guidelines of financial fair play and his salary is too high“.
In this context, a return of Neymar to Barcelona in the short or medium term seems unlikely.
