Jude Bellingham has all but ruled out joining the Premier League in the near future as he expects to spend at least 10 years at Real Madrid.
The midfielder has gotten off to a flying start since his move from Borussia Dortmund to Madrid, scoring 10 goals in as many matches in all competitions. He also transferred this form to the national team, scoring a penalty and an assist in England’s 2-1 victory over Italy, which qualified for Euro 2024.
Bellingham has earned praise from teammates, rivals and former players as he establishes himself as one of the best players in the world. The 20-year-old chose Madrid over Manchester City and Liverpool, and it looks like the Premier League suitors will have to wait a long time before they have a chance to convince him to leave the Spanish capital.
“I love football at the moment. The leaders of my club and my country give me the freedom to play as I wish,” he declared to Channel 4. “For several months, I have worked a lot on my timing to enter the box and I arrive with a great hunger.
“The fact is I have to deliver, whether it’s a goal, an assist or a match-worthy performance. This is the club I want to spend the next 10 to 15 years of my life at. I like it a lot. Carlo (Ancelotti) told me that this is the position he saw me in.”
The England star will likely be in action again on Saturday, when the Madrid side take on Sevilla in La Liga.
