Cited as one of the possible successors of Christophe Galtier, Thiago Motta will not come to PSG this summer. The former Parisian player has indeed linked his destiny to Bologna.

After a final victory Sunday in Lecce, Bologna finally ranked in ninth place in the Serie A standings. An unexpected position for the Rossoblu i Veltri. Arrived in September 2022 to replace Sinisa Mihajlovic, who suffered from leukemia and died in December, the former Paris Saint-Germain player won over Bologna supporters with the game played by his team. And obviously, on the PSG side, we had a watchful eye on Thiago Motta, to the point of making him a very serious candidate for the position that Christophe Galtier is about to give up. But, the day after the rumor that sends Julian Negelsmann and Thierry Henry to the bench of the champions of France, the Italian press announces that Thiago Motta will extend his contract with Bologna.

On Monday, the 40-year-old former Italy international met with club owner Joey Saputo and other managers, and it was agreed that Motta would continue to lead the Emilia-Romagna club. Antonio Petrazzuolo, a well-known Italian journalist, confirms that Thiago Motta will be fine in Bologna next season and nowhere else. Motta’s return to PSG is therefore not for this year.
