PSG’s match against Stade de Reims, Saturday in the women’s D1, in Poissy, was targeted by mortar fireworks, pushing the players to quickly take refuge in the locker rooms.

The scene is surreal. At the start of the second half of the match between PSG and Stade de Reims, Saturday afternoon, in the women’s D1, fireworks mortars were launched onto the lawn of the Stade Léo-Lagrange in Poissy. French Rouge et Bleu international Elisa De Almeida then brought the ball up the field, but all the players suddenly ran towards the locker room to take cover.

The mortar firework shots came from the tennis courts surrounding the football pitch and spectators, including many children, were all close to the fireworks explosions, as were the Canal+ commentators, installed on a gondola to observe the match from above. The images are particularly mind-blowing.

After 40 minutes of waiting, and if there were no injuries among the two teams or the public, the match was definitively stopped. The Rémois, however, were waiting to resume the game, still stuck at 0-0. Due to a fungus on the municipal field of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, this women’s PSG match was relocated to Poissy, the town where the new training center is located.
