While the trend sent him to Chelsea, Manuel Ugarte will finally sign for Paris Saint-Germain in the coming hours. The champions of France hold their first reinforcement of the transfer window.
For 48 hours, and even though Manuel Ugarte preferred to join PSG, Chelsea seemed close to an agreement with Sporting. To achieve its ends, the Premier League club had agreed to pay more than the 60 million euros of the release clause provided for in the contract of the Uruguayan international midfielder. What inevitably attract the Portuguese leaders, happy to see the Blues outbid for their player. However, on Sunday night Chelsea let Sporting know that they were dropping this lead and that no offer would be made for Manuel Ugarte. Paris Saint-Germain therefore regained control of this file and it quickly materialized.

In the wake of Chelsea’s renunciation, the Lisbon club has indeed resumed contact with Paris Saint-Germain and accepted the 60 million euros initially offered by the champions of France to lift the release clause. According to L’Equipe, the solid 22-year-old midfielder is expected in the capital on Monday to pass his medical examination and sign his contract with PSG. Manuel Ugarte will be the first official reinforcement for Paris, even though we do not yet know the name of the new Parisian coach.
