Vitor Roque’s agent insists the striker will join FC Barcelona in January 2024 as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury.
The Catalan club signed Roque from Athletico Paranaense this summer for a fee of €35 million. The striker was expected to arrive in Catalonia next summer as Barcelona could not register him immediately due to FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules imposed by La Liga.
However, Xavi has spoken about the need to strengthen the attack in January and the club is finding solutions to make room for Roque within the FFP budget. All parties have agreed to accelerate the transaction, as confirmed by his agent Andre Cury.
“ Everything is ready for Vitor Roque to sign for Barcelona in January 2024. Everything is agreed with the clubs and the player. Nobody told me otherwise, so Vitor Roque will be part of Barcelona’s sporting project in January 2024.he told RAC1.
Roque is currently nursing an ankle injury sustained against Internacional. He had to be evacuated on a stretcher after being the victim of a violent tackle from defender Nicolas Hernandez. It was reported that he ruptured a ligament in his right ankle and could be out for three months. However, Curey says he is ahead of schedule and expected to be well within a month.
“Roque is recovering very well and will be ready in four weeks. He is a young and strong boy and we thank God that everything went very well”did he declare.
