Fayza Lamari had hit the headlines in recent months by launching into the profession of agent. And what could be more practical than being the mother of Kylian and Ethan Mbappé to have your first two renowned “clients”. Later, the mother of number 7 from Paris Saint-Germain also recovered Lyonnais Rayan Cherki. But today there is urgency. Marca underlines in fact that Mbappé’s mother will have to quickly comply with FIFA laws if she wants to continue her role as agent. As a reminder, the governing body of world football made a big announcement on September 29.

“Partially implemented since January 2023, the FIFA Agent Regulations will come into full force on October 1, 2023. This document is the result of an exhaustive consultation process involving players, clubs, leagues, federations national authorities and the agents themselves. The legality, validity and proportionality of the regulation were confirmed by a decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Furthermore, German, Belgian, Spanish, Dutch, Swiss and Czech courts have rejected requests for injunctions against this new text filed at the national and international levels. FIFA will therefore apply all the provisions of its Agent Regulations from October 1, including the obligation to use licensed agents, the capping of commissions and the new measures relating to protection of minors. The only exception will be Germany, where a preliminary injunction granted by a local court will not allow certain provisions to be enforced..

A review not before 2024

Clearly, Fayza Lamari is, today, no longer authorized to act as an official agent of Mbappé and Cherki. The Spanish newspaper also indicates that the name of the Parisian’s mother does not appear in the list published on the FIFA Agent Platform. At a time when Mbappé’s future is being played out behind the scenes, the Mbappé clan must find a solution. Because this situation will last for a few more months.

In its press release, FIFA indicated that it had granted around 4,500 licenses and invites interested or unsuccessful candidates to attend future sessions which will take place in May and November 2024. If it wants to continue its activity as quickly as possible, Fayza Lamari will not should not be missed next May. To be continued.
