Former Marseille defender Eric Di Méco did not like the interview against Marcelino at all.

Two weeks after his departure from OM, Marcelino let loose in the columns of L’Equipe. The Spanish coach spoke his truths, sparing no one in his criticism.

“Marcelino?” A coach of small clubs »

“For me Marcelino is disqualified from talking about OM. He left like a timid man after two months, started by dropping the 1993 European champion. Although it has never been called into question. There were criticisms of his work, but in this famous meeting there was never any question of the pro team.”

Di Méco continued by indicating that Gattuso’s predecessor had nothing to do with OM. He just wants to sell himself to other clubs and erase this catastrophic spell in the south of France: “When he does this interview, he is trying to clear the air of a fiasco. He did not achieve his first objective which was qualification for the Champions League and that made an illegible game, you don’t reason. You can’t say what he said when he failed.”

Finally, the former French international recognized that Marcelino was right on at least one point. This is because OM is no longer a big club. “But we don’t need him to know that. And if OM were a big club today, he would not have come as a coach because he is a coach of small clubs. he added in an angry tone.
