As William Saliba continues his strong start to the season, former Arsenal defender David O’Leary made an amusing comparison to the Frenchman and a Rolls-Royce.
Since returning to Arsenal from his season-long loan at Olympique de Marseille in July 2022, William Saliba (22 years old) has established himself as a boss of the defense of Gunners. Very satisfied with the duo formed by the Habs and the Brazilian Gabriel, David O’Leary, the legend of the club, allowed himself a fairly flattering comparison between the Bondynois and the famous luxury car, the Rolls-Royce.
“He is fast, calm, reads the game well, thus judged David O’Leary. He’s good in the air and he’s strong. It’s a Rolls-Royce. I think we have a player who can be very, very special. For the former Irish defender, the Frenchman is the missing piece in the Arsenal puzzle, particularly during the final sprint of the previous exercise. He forms a good duo with Gabriel but, for me, it was the Rolls-Royce that we missed in the final straight of the last season. He can still bring us a lot”explained the Londoner to The Telegraph.
Imperial since the start of the season, the former Olympian took part in all the matches of the English vice-champions (11 matches – 11 starts – 1 goal), apart from the League Cup match on the Brentford pitch (1 -0), September 27.
