Bayern have been experiencing quite hectic hours, even months, for some time. Last season, Julian Nagelsmann was fired against all expectations, replaced by Thomas Tuchel. Then, just before the summer, the Bavarian hierarchy was significantly shaken up in order to turn the page on Oliver Kahn in particular. In the show BR24 Wahl – Der Sonntags-StammtischUli Hoeness, the former president of Bayern Munich, has completely let go of certain choices made by the former management. “It was not me who fired Nagelsmann and we can say that it was not very intelligent”he declared, who would therefore have liked to see the current Germany coach stay at the club. “He was completely unused and has recovered well. He will now move forward at full speed”.

But Uli Hoeness doesn’t stop there and takes a swipe at the former Bayern sporting director: “The appointment of Oliver Kahn as CEO was a serious mistake. And when I realized he couldn’t do that, I went for Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and changed that.”. Uli Hoeness concludes about the future of the Bavarian club: “I estimate that in the next six to 12 months we will have the staff that the future should have. Afterwards, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and I will retire from the position of supervisory board, which only serves the purpose of providing advice. But at the moment we also have more operational tasks until we notice that the ship is sailing straight again”. As a reminder, Max Eberl could well join the management of Bayern after leaving RB Leipzig, to come to the aid of Christoph Freund.
