The club was impatiently awaiting it. This Sunday afternoon at the Stade Vélodrome, Olympique de Marseille won with a score of 3 goals to 0 against Le Havre for the 8th day of Ligue 1. It is a first success for the OM version Gennaro Gattuso.

The Marseillais have regained the taste of victory since August 26 and a success against Stade Brestois during the 3rd day (2-0). This great performance allows the Olympians to get back on track and provisionally take 6th place in the standings with 12 points on the clock ahead of Stade Rennais.

In the ranks of HAC players, it’s 12th place and another defeat. Le Havre conceded a new setback after the one they suffered in front of their supporters against Lille with a score of 2 goals to 0.

An OM in control and confidence

For this match on the 8th day, Olympique de Marseille had no room for error and had to start the machine to take flight in this new era. And the Marseillais did not procrastinate for very long in this part. In the first minutes of the match, Gattuso’s men opened the scoring (18e1-0).

A goal scored against his camp by Arouna Sangante following a very good collective movement between Valentin Rongier and Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegalese international broke through the defense with the ball at his feet before crossing from the right side. A cross diverted without its own net by the Le Havre defender.

An achievement which gave confidence to the Phocaeans who gained strength as the minutes of play progressed. Only a few later, Amine Harit led a fatal counterattack, and found Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in depth who would calmly adjust the HAC goalkeeper Arthur Desmas (21e, 2-0). The Gabonese scores his first goal in Ligue 1 this season.

Overtaken in a few minutes by clinical Marseillais, Le Havre will crack and give in definitively to the 39e minute of play. Author of a foul on Ismaila Sarr in the central circle, Rassoul Ndiaye had to leave his partners because of a second yellow card received.

Returning from the locker room, Valentin Rongier’s partners, in numerical superiority, did not need to force themselves to dominate their opponents and even killed any suspense at the end of the match thanks to a goal from Ismaila Sarr on a nice serve from Pierre -Emerick Aubameyang, very prominent (84e3-0).
