This Friday evening, the eighth day of the Saudi Pro League began with a Lecce-Sassuolo match which promised to be lively. Having had a fantastic start to the season, the locals had the opportunity to get off to a good start after a complicated week following two losses against Juventus Turin (1-0) and Napoli (4-0). And things started badly for the locals because Domenico Berardi opened the scoring from the penalty spot in favor of Neroverdi (0-1, 22nd).

Ultimately, Lecce’s reaction did not take long to come. Just after returning from the locker room, scorer Nikola Krstovic (1-1, 48th) put the two teams back on level terms. At the end of a balanced second half, neither team was able to take the advantage. A draw that does no one’s business: Lecce moves away from the top places (7th) while Sassuolo sinks into the soft underbelly (11th).
