Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted that his Croatian midfielder’s situation was complex.

Long indisputable in Madrid, Modric lost his starting place this season with the arrival in the team of Jude Bellingham. Ancelotti rules out Modric departure

The former Ballon d’Or now has plans to leave because he is no longer happy in the Spanish capital. A state of affairs that his trainer Carlo Ancelotti did not deny. At a press conference this Friday, the Italian coach admitted that his player is having a hard time with his new status. “Modrić is not happy and that is obvious, but I talk to him every day and he is always extra motivated,” he confided.

The Merengue coach continued by saying that he had no doubts about Modric’s investment: “There’s no one like him in the locker room…he’s the leader. Its importance is maximum. I love him very much, we all love him.”

Finally, Ancelotti assured that it was completely excluded that the Croatian would leave during the winter transfer window, while rumors point to a transfer to Dinamo Zagreb. “ If Luka Modrić leaves in January? Absolutely not. There’s no chance. He doesn’t want to leave. He thinks he’s an important player and we think the same thing. He is a very important player for us. We are happy to keep it.”
