Jorge Valdano, the former coach of Real Madrid, doesn’t like at all what the current Merengue team looks like.
Former Real Madrid general manager and coach Jorge Valdano is not too impressed by what the Spanish capital team has been offering since the start of the season. He believes the habit of conceding goals is worrying.
A Real too feverish
Real conceded two goals in their victory over Champions League opponents Napoli on Tuesday. A feverishness which had already been displayed ten days earlier against Atlético (1-3), in its other big match at the start of the season.
Valdano spoke on this subject: “In these matches, it is normal that there are phases where the opponent makes you suffer. In the first half, Real Madrid made up for it thanks to a masterful (Jude) Bellingham and an excellent Vinícius Jr. But for the umpteenth time, the team found itself outnumbered.”
Ancelotti, who doesn’t really like being pointed at, will be able to retort to the Argentinian that his team is now leader of La Liga and also of its Champions League group. And if he looks at the statistics, he can also remind Valdano that his Real, champion of Spain in 1995, did not have the best defense in the championship either.
