This Thursday, Valencia CF reacted to accusations of racist remarks made by Vinicius against the club’s supporters.
Last May, Vinicius Junior had once again been the target of racist insults in a La Liga stadium. On the lawn of Valence, the Brazilian international was targeted by insults, causing him to lose his temper and requiring the match to be interrupted for several minutes. This Thursday, the player real Madrid spoke before a judge on this subject.

For their part, the residents of Mestalla complained about the fact that the 23-year-old player is globalizing by putting all Valencia supporters in the same basket. “In view of the information published in the alleged statement of footballer Vinícius Jr. in court, according to which the entire Mestalla stadium hurled racist insults at him during the match between Valencia CF and Real Madrid CF last season, the club wishes to express its surprise, rejection and indignation. (…) The club is fully aware of the seriousness of this matter. Racism has no place in football or in society, but it cannot be fought with sophisms or baseless lies. (…) Valencia supporters cannot be described as racist and Valencia CF demands that Vinicius Jr. publicly corrects the statement he made this morning”we can read in a press release published by the club later in the day.
