Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has submitted a special request to his Merengue management.
Luka Modric has reportedly requested an exit voucher from his club Real Madrid. This was revealed by Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda during the show El Chiringuito.
Modric ready to pack his bags
“He met with the coach and the board of directors, Inda said. It was a friendly conversation because they are two intelligent people. Modric is uncomfortable when he is on the bench, away from the team, he is not so comfortable because he is a great player. He told the coach, ‘Hey sir, you told me you were counting on me and that I was going to be important and you’re not following through.’ There was an exchange of words and he ended up accepting his situation, telling himself that if it didn’t change by January then he would leave the team.
Long indisputable in Madrid, Modric lost his starting place this season with the arrival in the team of Jude Bellingham. He is only 13e playing time of the entire squad (309 minutes) and only started three times. Tuesday on the Naples field, he started again as a substitute. He came on 25 minutes from time and was responsible for the corner that brought Federico Valverde’s winning goal.
“They are two reasonable guys and it was between adults who get along well. Modric told him that he wanted to reach the top of the Euro and that if he did not play as a starter, he would not stay in such conditions. The conversation with the board took place in similar terms. He asked to leave, if this continues, in January. He did not speak directly to Florentino. He was told to be patient, but patience is running out,” Inda added.
