He is no longer coach of Eintracht Frankfurt today, but Olivier Glasner is the one who allowed the emergence of Randal Kolo Muani (24 years old) in Germany, after his promising debut in Nantes. In an interview given to The Team, the ex-manager of the Eagles explained the rise in power of the French international, who revealed himself at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The 49-year-old also explained that winger was not his preferred position.

“For me, he’s not a side player. The typical winger is Ousmane Dembélé. I needed to see a Randal Kolo Muani who scored goals and, on the one hand, he made a lot of assists, but he scored too few. So he had to be in line. But you shouldn’t ask it to be static. He is very intelligent in his movements, he also improved a lot with his left foot last season (…) We played with three central defenders, a bit like PSG when they have the ball and they bring Hakimi up. Kolo Muani was also our number 9, but he had a lot of freedom., he explained. A message sent to Luis Enrique on the eve of the trip to Newcastle United, in C1.
