According to information from the English media Sky Sportspetrochemical billionaire and INESO boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe would ultimately consider buying a minority stake in British football club Manchester United rather than acquiring full majority control, in a bid to end a process of nearly 10 months of stalled negotiations aimed at determining future ownership of the club.
Indeed, the English channel has learned that Sir Jim’s Ineos Sports vehicle has offered the controlling Glazer family an agreement that would allow him to acquire shares of their shares and shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange in equal proportions. That offer would involve bidding at the same price for both sets of shares, with one suggestion on Monday evening being that Sir Jim could seek a stake of around 25% in the Red Devils as part of his latest proposal.
