Manchester United are having their worst start to a Premier League season in 34 years under the leadership of Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils suffered another Premier League defeat as they lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday. This is their fourth defeat in seven league matches this season, meaning the club are off to their worst start in 34 years.
Manager Erik ten Hag was understandably frustrated after the meeting with Palace, questioning the quality of his players’ play on the pitch after the match. According to Mirrorthe Dutch coach is also concerned about the “mental fragility” of some of his players and their ability to face difficult situations on the pitch.
Ten Hag is also facing several off-field issues within the club. He recently fell out with Jadon Sancho, who was left out of first-team activities. Star defender Lisandro Martinez has also been sidelined for a long period, with the Argentine requiring surgery on a foot injury. Last season’s star Marcus Rashford, who scored 30 goals for the club in all competitions, has also failed to deliver as he has only scored once in the Premier League since the start of the season.
