Bruno Genesio was full of praise for Nemanja Matic after Stade Rennais’ victory in the derby against Nantes (3-1).
After five draws in a row, Stade Rennais has rediscovered the taste of victory. Opposed to FC Nantes, the Bretons won 3-1 after a match controlled from start to finish. The Rouge et Noir notably dominated the debates in midfield, where Nemanja Matic shined, attracting congratulations from his coach.
“He is someone who is exemplary professional. We can’t last like that and play in big clubs like he did if we don’t have that. For our group, which is young, it is very, very, very important to have an example like him. Little by little, he takes up more and more space in the locker room. He often speaks, despite the language barrier which currently prevents him from having the place that should be his. On the pitch, on the other hand, we saw it again this evening in terms of tempo management and technical quality, it’s very strong.
