After an ultimately expeditious stint on the Eagles bench, Patrick Vieira returned to France, to the RSCA, while Roy Hodgson returned to his position as coach at Crystal Palace. A return to basics for the very experienced English coach, who has had a successful start to the season by reaching 9th place in the Premier League with his team, just after beating Manchester United at Old Trafford (0-1). But at 76, Hodgson undoubtedly does not represent the future of the London club.
And indeed, Crystal Palace is already testing the waters. The Sun reports that Paulo Fonseca is being closely monitored to replace Roy Hodgson in the long term. The Portuguese, at LOSC, was already mentioned before Patrick Vieira was finally chosen in 2021. According to the British media, Fonseca would be tempted by the idea of joining the Premier League one day so why not Crystal Palace to join do the hand. A file which should be expanded next summer.
