Gennaro Gattuso, who is about to join Olympique de Marseille, will not arrive alone at the Marseille club…

Faced with the urgency of the situation, Pablo Longoria made a decision. Barring an unlikely turnaround, Gennaro Gattuso will take his place on the Olympique de Marseille bench for the club’s next matches, against Monaco in Ligue 1 then Brighton in the Europa League.

While the name of Christophe Galtier had come up repeatedly, OM is therefore banking on a new foreign technician. As with the Croatian Igor Tudor, Pablo Longoria exploited his powerful network in Italy to poach a manager renowned for his leadership qualities and his grip. Gattuso should sign a contract which will bind him to OM until the end of this season, with an additional year as an option, according to information from L’Équipe.

Gattuso arrives at OM with 5 reinforcements

The French daily also specifies that the Italian technician should not arrive alone. Gennaro Gattuso should indeed arrive with a fairly extensive staff. Five people are expected at his side. Luigi Riccio should be his deputy, while Dino Tenderini and Bruno Domicini will be called upon to continue their collaboration as physical trainers. The technical staff would finally be completed by video analysis Marco Sangermani and goalkeeping coach Roberto Perrone. The OM workforce will therefore not take long to discover this new team of technicians, who should lead their first session this Wednesday.
