Former PSG coach Christophe Galtier would now be the favorite to take the reins of OM.
What if the future coach of OM was a former member of the rival club PSG? Hard to imagine some time ago, this scenario could well happen in the coming days. Christophe Galtier being announced as a potential future coach of the Olympians.
Galtier in deep thought
According to information from RMC Sport, the Marseille management has carefully surveyed the double French champion technician. After having named only foreigners (Sampaoli, Tudor and Marcelino), Pablo Longoria would have decided to call on a “local” coach who knows the Marseille context. Galtier would fit this profile.
The source indicates that the person concerned is not closed to the idea of managing the club in his hometown. However, before accepting, he would like to know how he will be received by the supporters. If there is a climate of distrust against him, due in particular to his time at PSG but also and above all because of his legal troubles, he would just as much like to avoid throwing himself into the den.
A few days ago, in an interview with Canal+, “Galette” expressed his desire to return to service quickly. He indicated that three months of rest was enough to recharge the batteries and move forward.
Note that besides Galtier, other names of coaches are currently circulating around the Commanderie. The Spaniard Julen Lopetegui is also cited among the contenders, as is the Italian Roberto Donadoni and the Italian Jaime Pacheco.
