This is what he implied when speaking about his own decision to turn down a move to the Premier League during the final days of the transfer window. “It was an interesting proposition, but leaving with a bad start was not an option for me. And I felt like I was leaving the club in trouble. I must do everything to put it at the highest level,” he declared during an interview with Canal+.
While indicating that he would never have abandoned OL, Caqueret still wished his former teammates the best: “They are top players. I respect their choice and we know that in football careers go quickly. But, I would have liked them to stay.”
