Used to being decisive in the Classics, Kylian Mbappé was unable to participate in the party this Sunday. The French world champion was forced to give up his place quite early in the match after discomfort felt in his ankle.
Mbappé had, however, contributed indirectly to the opening score since the top scorer in Ligue 1 had provoked the free kick leading to the opener of the score for his friend Achraf Hakimi. Hooked by Leonardo Balerdi on the action, Mbappé quickly grimaced. The attacker remained on the pitch for several minutes before requesting the change.
Luis Enrique thus replaced his star in the 32nd minute without changing the structure of the team. The Portuguese Gonçalo Ramos entered in place of the French striker.
