In the wake of the correction inflicted by Bayern Munich on Bochum on its lawn (7-0), the 5th day of the Bundesliga continued with a poster of the second part of the table between Werder Bremen and Cologne, respectively 13th and 16th in the championship German. After a first half hour of observation, the match ignited when Davie Selke opened the scoring for the visitors (31st, 0-1) then Rafael Santos Borré responded to equalize only a few minutes later (38th, 1- 1).

After the break, the locals pushed to achieve a second very important victory in the Bundesliga. As the minutes began to tick by, Ole Werner brought Justin Njinmah onto the pitch to dynamite his offensive sector (66th). A choice that paid off since the German striker delivered his team only a minute after coming into play (67th, 2-1). With this victory, Werder Bremen completely revives while Cologne remains in a dangerous 16th place.
