Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino insists he and the club’s owners are on the same page. And that’s why he’s not overly worried about his position.
Pochettino stays the course
The Blues have had a disappointing start to the season, winning just one of their first five matches. The pressure increases but the team manager remains calm. And for good reason ; he retains the support of his hierarchy. “We talk, we talk with the sports director, they support the project. They are not disappointed because we have the same feelings about the project,” he confided.
The former PSG coach also said he was not at all frustrated by this bad patch, which is an extension of the catastrophic past season. “I’m not frustrated because I think the team is performing well and is missing a lot of key players. I’m disappointed because I think a lot of teams with less resources score more. This is why we feel bad. The players deserve more. The only way to get what we want is to keep pushing, keep playing.”
He concluded by expressing his satisfaction with the investment of his troops: “I’m very happy with the mood of the team after Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, they really care and they really want to win games.”
