President and strongman of Tottenham since 2001, Daniel Lévy has been one of the leading figures in English football for several years. The Briton has made the London club grow year after year to the point of seeing it become one of the most attractive clubs on the Old Continent.

However, despite a great rise in recent years, the club has still won nothing. In addition, the Spurs are experiencing a less good period where the results are not there.

Questioned this Thursday by Bloomberg, the boss of the London club returned to some of his choices, namely the signings of José Mourinho (2019-2021) and Antonio Conte (2021-2023). For him, the arrivals of the two coaches were bad choices for the club that he regrets today.

” I made a mistake. They were both great managers, but not made for this club. And the way they want to win is different from the way we need to win. The frustration of not winning and the pressure from maybe some players and a large portion of the fans who say we have to win, we have to spend money, we have to have a big coach, a big name. And it affected me,” did he declare.

Postecoglou brilliant at the start of the year

This season, Tottenham is starting a new cycle with the arrival at the head of the team of Ange Postecoglou. The Greek technician has had a very good start to the season with Tottenham. Spurs are in second place in the Premier League, two points behind Manchester City. In addition to the defeat in the League Cup, the Londoners are undefeated since the restart (4 wins and 1 draw in the PL).

This Sunday, the 58-year-old manager will experience his second big test of the season during the north London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. A crucial match which could allow Spurs to take 3 points ahead of the rival and secure second position.
