As tradition dictates, FIFA has just revealed its world rankings. Unsurprisingly, Argentina keeps the lead and even widens the gap on its pursuers after having started the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup perfectly thanks to its victories over Ecuador (1-0) and Bolivia (0-3 ). For its part, France, vice-world champion, retains its second place, but is losing ground following its defeat against Germany (2-1), in a friendly match last week. Brazil completes the podium (3rd) while England (4th) and Belgium (5th) remain in ambush in the Top 5.

At the same time, Croatia (6th) and the Netherlands (7th) maintain their respective positions while Portugal (8th, +1) overtakes Italy (9th, -1), held in check by North Macedonia ( 1-1) in a qualifying match for Euro 2024 and saw Spain dangerously arrive behind its back (10th). Concerning the notable progressions, they are to the credit of three nations: Albania (62nd, +3), Guinea-Bissau (106th, +6) and Aruba (193rd, +6).
