Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, was measured about the Merengue club’s chances of victory in the Champions League.
Opposed to Union Berlin for its entry into the Champions League this Wednesday, Real Madrid continues to enjoy great odds in Europe’s premier competition. And for good reason, the Madrid club has fourteen UEFA Champions League titles, including one won in 2022 against Liverpool (1-0). However, Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of the Merengue, and one of the great architects of the last European coronation of the Blancos, estimated the chances of victory of the reigning champion, Manchester City, higher than those of the resident club of La Liga. An opinion which is not shared by his midfielder, Eduardo Camavinga.
“Manchester City are favorites because this club has a squad which allowed them to win last year and which has not changed much, thus explained He Mister. But in the Champions League, as always, there are surprises at the end. I see Real Madrid as a team that will fight until the end. We never think we are favourites, just like City don’t think so. But they won last year, we can say they are favorites”judged the Italian coach at a press conference this Tuesday.
